Goal 22:Mentoring is my passion…let’s light the path! #30Goals

Here they are! All eagerly waiting to have someone show them the way. Not only young, but all ages and colors! All hoping that someone, will take notice, throw out a lifeline and support and mentor them. Even if it’s only for a day.

As you are joining with us on The 30 Goals Challenge…what can you do to make a commitment to mentor a colleague, or new/pre-service teacher. How can you make a daily commitment to light someone’s path?

There are SO many ways that you can choose to mentor…and I humbly offer these today:

The Teacher Mentoring Project: To collaborate and find best practices and to mentor and support teachers in K-12 and higher education institutes of learning worldwide for online and offline learning. Join us! http://www.edupln.com/group/theteachermentoringproject

New Teacher Connections on Edutopia.org :The first years of practice can be a time of great hope and exhilaration — and fatigue and anxiety. This group is designed to allow new teachers and veterans alike to connect and share that sense of community that is so important in the first years. Leave a weekly comment!: http://www.edutopia.org/groups/bridges-first-years-practice

New Teacher Chat: #ntchat is a weekly chat founded by Lisa Dabbs @teachingwthsoul.
The @Edutopia Team of @EdutopiaBetty,@ElanaLeoni and @VideoAmy,provide support for the chat and moderation as time permits. This chat was created to provide weekly mentoring and focus on the needs of new, new to the profession and pre-service teachers. The chat is supportive and practitioner focused. It occurs on Twitter from 5pm-6pm PST/8pm-9pm ET on Wednesdays. Use the #ntchat hashtag to Join the Conversation and post your thoughts throughout the week on Twitter. http://newteacherchat.wikispaces.com/

Join me today in choosing to Mentor or Find a Mentor for someone in need and make that contribution to slowly change the world. The world will be a  better place because YOU choose to take that step and light the Path!
