Goal 16: Change your environment…take a field trip! #30Goals
This is my son’s former high school Photography teacher, Amber Fox. We are big fans of hers and continue to be friends to this day!
Take 5 min and listen to my reflection on an “environment change” that this wonderful teacher does for her students. Thanks for listening!

Goal: What will you do to change the environment of learning for your students? Will you plan a walking field trip? How will you do it? Share it with a colleague.
Quote: “It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” ~ Alan Cohen
Challenge: 1) Join The Teacher Mentoring Project on The EduPLN. 2) Support new teachers at Edutopia.org by responding to their questions and concerns. 3) Plan a simple walking field trip with your students. If possible have them Blog about how this changed their classroom environment.

I agree with you. A change in environment can bring a fresh perspective to whatever it is that you are learning about. I teach Kindergarten and we take about 6 trips per school year. The children love traveling as a group and the enthusiasm is always abundant. Going to even a small local bakery, where the children can decorate their own personal cake with as much icing as they want, is like a dream come true. They squeeze the pastry bags with tall their might and tongues sticking out and I am not aloud to say a word. Bringing home a sweet masterpiece to enjoy after dinner with their family is the ultimate reward! Field trips can be a simple change of environment that breath new life and exuberance into our students! Take More Field Trips!
