The 30 Goals Song of the Week: “Same auld lang syne”
What are you planning to do to make 2011 better than 2010? I hope you truly have thought about this as 2010 is soon to come to a close.
The song I offer today as our 30 Goals Song of the week is “Same Old Lang Syne“.
This is a song sung by Dan Fogelberg from his 1981 album The Innocent Age. The song is a narrative ballad told in the first person and tells the story of two long-ago lovers meeting by chance in a supermarket on Christmas Eve.
The content of the song although relational, can be applied to any aspect of our lives.
Are we just drinking a toast to the past with no plan for moving forward in a more vibrant way? Are we going to press forward with excitement and vigor? Or settle for the same old, same old…
Click on the song title below and take a listen to this timeless piece…what’s your plan to make a difference in 2011?
“We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness but neither one knew how
We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence, another auld lang syne”
Peace.
