From Teacher as Boss to Collaborator…

Recently, I have worked to update my profile on  The Educators PLN. If you aren’t a member of this wonderful supportive team, you need to be sure to visit this Ning site. It’s packed with all kinds of tremendous educational resources, and members who are eager to support and share. There are also videos, links, tech support and more! I hope you visit, and consider joining.

While I was on The Educators PLN, I came across a great video posted by one of may favorite PLN members,  Shelly Terrell.  The title is Myths and Opportunities:Technology in the Classroom by Alan November.

This video will take about 13 minutes to watch. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and breathe.

As you view,  I hope you will come to the conclusion that the industrial model of “Teacher as Boss” must be replaced with the 21st Century model of “Teacher as Collaborator”.  I hope you will be challenged to examine and reflect on your own teaching,  to see what might be missing as you work to connect with your students.

Be ready to be inspired!

I love this video. It’s as if we are walking with Alan November and he is having an intimate conversation with us about our practice.
