Which Daily Tasks Take Up the Most Energy?
Well, well, well…this is an interesting topic.
When I was younger, I’d have to say by far, the tasks that took up the most energy were taking care of my two sons, Jason and Aaron.
I was a single Mom for 13 years and for 9 of those “single parent” years I worked as an elementary school principal. It was a challenge to pick my boys up from daycare or after school programs, return home after a long day at the school site and attend to their needs. As I look back on those years, I remember being exhausted of all energy most nights, but grateful to have a job that allowed me to provide a good life for my children. It was a true work of passion for me, and finding balance then as a Mom and school principal, was hard, but somehow I did it. The best thing about those years was that my boys never felt neglected as I always made time to play with them, read with them and tuck them in at night. They even shared that they took great pride in telling their friends that their Mom was a principal. Imagine that!
Now as I consider , which daily tasks take up the most energy, I’m inclined to say surprisingly that it’s not my family, but rather it’s the time I have to take to blog!
As an educational consultant…blogging is one of the most important aspects of my work and finding the time to do it, and create a high quality post, for several different clients, takes a lot of energy. I admire those bloggers who crank out posts daily from their computers, tablets, or smart phones. (I also admire those who are fast typists, which sadly, I am not.) And what about those that blog more often than daily! I just don’t happen to be one of those who’s able to do that…at least not yet. I’m not sure I ever will be that kind of blogger, but a girl can dream, right?
The energy devoted to my blogging tasks often releases pent-up emotion or frustration that has been lying dormant. However, I’m happy to say that once I get on a blogging roll, I truly enjoy it.
So…which daily tasks take up the most energy in you life?
I’m excited to be joining the BlogHer January Blogging series, a series of blog prompts that bloggers agree to write about each day. The blogosphere is going to be active with the hashtag #NaBloPoMo and I have made the commitment to post daily for the month of January, so wish me luck! While participating, I hope to push myself to be creative and grow in my ability to be a better blogger. It would be great for you to participate with me by commenting on my post with your own take on the topic.
Thanks for stopping by!
